Coloured engineered fibreboard. Valchromat is an evolution of medium density fibreboard (MDF). Manufactured from recycled pine wood and mill waste, it reduces the demand for virgin fibre. The individual fibres are impregnated with organic dyes and bonded together with melamine urea formaldehyde (MUF) with low formaldehyde emissions (class E1). Mixing melamine and urea reduces the emissions compared to urea formaldehyde (UF). Similar to conventional MDF, it is easy to cut, drill and sand.
