Brimstone low carbon cement
Brimstone low carbon cement is produced from calcium silicate rock. Unlike limestone, which is the conventional raw material used in cement production and releases a significant volume of CO2 when processed, calcium silicate doesn’t release CO2. Brimstone produce two products: ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and supplementary cementitious materials (SCM). In addition to the calcium, silicon, iron and aluminum used to make cement, calcium silicate rock contains magnesium. They use this magnesium to passively and permanently remove atmospheric CO2.
